The Consultation Process
If you’re considering these clear aligners, you’ll begin the process with a consultation with Dr Andrew. At this visit, we will evaluate your bite and jaw positioning, as well as the related positioning of your teeth. We will take an intraoral scan, plus a full mouth panoramic X-ray (OPG) to help us develop your treatment plan. Our dentist will send these images to Invisalign’s lab, where a virtual smile plan is created.
A couple of weeks later, you will return to our office to review your proposed treatment plan. A digital proposal of your progress will also be available to preview before committing to treatment.
What to Expect From Treatment
When you begin your treatment, several sets of aligners are provided at a time. You will want to wear each pair of aligners for 22 hours a day (only removing them during meals and brushing and flossing) and change them out every two weeks.
Dr Andrew will evaluate your progress every month or two to ensure your smile responds appropriately to treatment. On average, most patients complete their teeth straightening process in about nine months. You will then be given a pair of clear retainers to wear at night to preserve your results.
